How do I schedule my newborn session when I don’t know when my baby will arrive?

We will tentatively schedule your session for a day around your due date.  Obviously, this is just an estimate! I ask that you phone or email me within a few days of having your baby, at which time we will confirm the date and time of your actual session.

Do you offer digital files or negatives?

All the pictures on the disc included in each package are digital high resolution jpg files. Want to purchase an additional disc? This is available at an additional cost.   I do not release any unedited files.

Do you offer refunds if we are unhappy with our portraits?

Unfortunately I do not offer a refund. In the un-likely case that you are completely unhappy with your photographs, I will be happy to reschedule the shoot.

General Information

{Newborns} I will come to you.  Got a window or room with nice natural lighting?  That’s where we will spend most of our time.  I will not use a flash (your baby will thank me), and they can sleep through most of it.  We can take plenty of breaks; there is no time limit.  I’ll stay until I think I have enough images.  Newborns photograph best at 10 days and younger.  We want them to curl up and be content. After 10 days they start to uncurl and cry a lot more.  Please let me know in advance (before you deliver) if you are planning on a newborn session.   I will be in touch with your progress and delivery.

{Portrait/Lifestyle} I will meet you at your choice of location: your home or a favorite park, for example. I’ll spend the first 10-15 minutes personally getting to know you and your children and talking about what to expect from the session. If the session is in your home, I’ll usually start out by looking at the different areas that are best for lighting situations, then I will start by photographing your children once they are comfortable, move on to “group” photos and then we’ll go outdoors for more photos. I love the natural light outdoors and many of my best photos are taken outside. My goal is to make the experience enjoyable for everyone.
